In the mini-auction for IPL 2023, KKR made Shakib a part of the team at a base price of 1.5 crores. Earlier, Shakib was a part of KKR from 2012 to 2014. Shakib was also a part of KKR in 2021 when the franchise bought him for 3.20 crores. That year, Shakib scored 47 runs in 6 innings of 8 matches and took 4 wickets in bowling at an average of 46.75.
