MS Dhoni: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets in the Indian Premier League 2025 match played at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday (April 14). This is Chennai's second win in seven matches but the team is at number ten in the points table. Let us tell you that before this Chennai had lost five consecutive matches.

After being invited to bat first, Lucknow scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In which captain Rishabh Pant played an innings of 63 runs in 49 balls. In response, Chennai won by losing 5 wickets in 19.3 overs. For Chennai, Shivam Dubey scored unbeaten 43 runs in 37 balls, captain MS Dhoni scored unbeaten 26 runs in 11 balls and Rachin Ravindra scored 37 runs in 22 balls.

After this match, Dhoni expressed his surprise at being given the Player of the Match award and said that Noor bowled very well.

Dhoni said, "It feels good to win matches. When you play in such a tournament, you want to win as many matches as possible. Unfortunately the initial matches did not go in our favour, the reason could be anything. There can be many reasons. Now at least we have got a win, this will boost the team's confidence and we can improve in the areas where needed. We all know that when things don't go in your favour in cricket, even God increases the difficulties -- and this was really a tough match. You don't want to play cricket in fear.

On Ashwin not being included in the team, Dhoni said, "We were putting a lot of pressure on Ashwin, he was bowling two overs in the first six overs. We made some changes and now this bowling attack looks better. The bowling unit has done a good job. The batting unit has to do a little better. Even today I was thinking -- 'Why am I being given this award?' Noor bowled very well."

Chennai Super Kings will play their next match against Mumbai Indians on April 20 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
