With just four days left for the 18th season of IPL, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a major boost. Mayank Yadav, known for his express pace, is preparing for a return after an injury setback. The young speedster, who impressed everyone last season with his raw pace, is now eyeing a strong comeback under Rishabh Pant’s captaincy.
Fitness Update: Mayank Back in the Nets
The 22-year-old pacer rose to fame last season, delivering back-to-back match-winning performances and winning the Player of the Match award twice in a row. However, his progress was halted due to injuries. After recovering, he even made his Team India debut but suffered another injury setback.
Now, ahead of IPL 2025, Mayank has resumed bowling in the nets. While no official confirmation has been provided regarding his availability, media reports suggest that he might miss the first half of the tournament. On Monday, he shared an Instagram story of himself bowling under the supervision of LSG’s support staff, raising hopes of an early return.
Mayank’s Record-Breaking IPL Debut
Last season, Mayank stunned everyone with his sheer pace, clocking a record-breaking 156.7 km/h – the fastest delivery by an Indian pacer in IPL history. This year, with Rishabh Pant leading LSG, Mayank’s return could significantly strengthen the team’s pace attack.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see when ‘India’s Shoaib Akhtar’ will take the field again in IPL 2025.
