In a disturbing sequel to the Meerut murder case, where a woman and her lover killed her husband and hid the body in a cement-filled drum, a similar threat has now surfaced in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Ajay, a painter by profession, claims he received a terrifying call from his wife’s lover, who threatened to murder him and stuff his body in a drum — a horrifying reference to the recent crime that shook the region.
Wife Elopes, Lover Issues Threat
According to Ajay, his wife Kajal developed a relationship with Kamal, a youth from the same locality. Kamal hails from the Sultanpuri area of Delhi. On March 19, he allegedly eloped with Kajal. Since then, Ajay has been unable to contact his wife despite repeated calls.
However, one call did connect — and what Ajay heard sent chills down his spine. Kamal allegedly warned him:
“Stop looking for your wife or I’ll kill you and pack your body in a drum.”
Police Apathy Adds to Trauma
Desperate, Ajay travelled from Firozabad to Sultanpuri police station in Delhi to file a complaint. But to his shock, he says the police there refused to take his statement seriously. When he returned and approached the South Police Station in Firozabad, he faced the same indifference.
“The police told me these kinds of cases keep happening,” says Ajay. “But this is my life. My wife has left, and I have two small children — one is three years old, the other just four.”
Media Is His Last Hope
Feeling helpless, Ajay has now turned to the media in the hope that public attention will force authorities to take his case seriously. For now, he waits with his children, hoping the woman he married will return — or that justice will finally begin its course.
