Ignoring jaundice can be costly! Identify it this way while sitting at home.

Signs of Jaundice: Ignoring the initial symptoms of jaundice can be dangerous. Now the question arises, can jaundice be identified at home? If yes then how?

Signs of Jaundice: We all know that when a person gets jaundice, the condition becomes very bad. But when we do not pay much attention to the symptoms that appear before jaundice, then suddenly one day, someone looks at you and asks, "Is everything alright? Your eyes look a little yellow." You laugh it off and avoid it. The question arises, do you know that this slight yellowish reflection can be the beginning of jaundice?

On this, Dr. Bimal Chhajed clearly says that, “Jaundice is not a minor disease. If it is not identified at the right time, it can cause severe damage to the liver. Meanwhile, another question comes to mind, can jaundice be identified at home? Yes, this can be done, if you pay attention to some special symptoms then it is possible.

Slight yellowing of the eyes and skin

The most common symptom of jaundice is yellowing of the white part of the eyes and the skin. People often assume this to be the result of fatigue or excessive exposure to sunlight, whereas this can be a warning of jaundice.

Light-colored stools or dark-colored urine

If you notice that your urine is becoming darker than usual and the stool is becoming lighter or clay-like in color, then these could be clear signs that the bilirubin level is increasing.

Fatigue, weakness, or loss of appetite

Dr. Bimal Chhajed says that in jaundice the body starts getting tired very quickly, appetite decreases and one always feels lazy. All these indicate a weak condition of the liver.

Fever and abdominal pain

In many cases, mild fever and pain in the upper abdomen can also be the initial symptoms of jaundice. Especially when these symptoms persist for several days.

Is it necessary to get a blood test done

If the above symptoms are persistent, make a list of your symptoms at home. Also, contact your doctor immediately and consult a bilirubin test.

Jaundice is not a common fever that can be ignored. It can affect the most important organs of the body like the liver. So if you notice these symptoms in yourself or someone close to you, contact a doctor as soon as possible and get it checked.
