If BJP comes to power, we will pick up and throw out Muslim MLAs... Suvendu Adhikari's controversial statement

Suvendu Adhikari: Suvendu Adhikari has once again come into the limelight due to one of his statements. This time he has talked about throwing Muslim MLAs out of the assembly. He said that let the BJP government come, the MLAs will be thrown out of the assembly.

Suvendu Adhikaru on Muslim MLA: Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikaru often remains in the headlines for his statements. Recently, he has once again made a scathing statement about Muslims. After which the politics of the state has once again heated up. He said that after forming the next government, the BJP will 'physically throw out' the Muslim MLAs from the assembly. TMC has strongly objected to this statement of Suvendu Adhikari.

Told TMC another form of Muslim League

Former BJP state president Suvendu was suspended from the assembly on February 17 and will remain suspended for the entire budget session. Attacking the Mamata government, he said that this government is running a communal administration and also termed it as another form of Muslim League. He said that this time the people of Bengal will overthrow this government.

What did TMC say

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress strongly objected to his statement and termed it a 'hate speech'. They also raised questions on the mental state of the officer. Apart from this, party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that no elected representative should use such language against his fellow MLAs. He further said that there can be debates and arguments in Parliament and Assembly, but targeting MLAs of a particular community by raising the issue of religion is against the principles of the Constitution. He not only called it a statement with 'provocative and distorted mentality'.

Similar statements have been made earlier as well

On the other hand, other BJP leaders have refused to comment on Suvendu Adhikari's statement. This is not the first time that Suvendu Adhikari's statement has created controversy. Even after the BJP's weak performance in Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he had made such a statement, which caused discomfort in his own party. He rejected the party's slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and said that 'Those who are with us, we are with them. We do not need a minority front'. Many BJP leaders distanced themselves from his statement
