2 veterans got angry at Sanju Samson

India defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the first T20 match played on Sunday. Team India registered a comfortable victory, chasing down the target of 157 runs with 38 balls to spare. Abhishek Sharma played a blistering innings of 82 runs off 32 balls for the Indian team, but Sanju Samson was dismissed for just 10 runs. This poor performance has raised questions about Samson and Team India's playing eleven.

On one hand, Mohammad Kaif questioned how Sanju Samson fit into the playing XI. Furthermore, why was Vaibhav Suryavanshi dropped when he made no mistakes? On the other hand, Aakash Chopra stated that before the first T20 match, he was in favor of giving Samson a chance in the playing XI, but his dismissal for just 10 runs will increase the pressure on Samson. It will be difficult for the team management to keep Vaibhav out for long, especially after a successful tour of Zimbabwe.

Mohammad Kaif raised questions.

During a discussion on Cricbuzz, Mohammad Kaif questioned why Sanju Samson had done anything to warrant his inclusion in the first T20I. Samson has scored just 43 runs in his last five innings.

Kaif said, "What did Sanju do that he got to play his first T20? When you are dropped from the team, you play in different tournaments to get back in form, but nothing like this happened in Samson's case."

Kaif questioned why the Zimbabwe tour went well for Vaibhav, but why the pairing of Abhishek and Suryavanshi wasn't trusted. Kaif criticized the management, saying they still don't know their best opening combination.

Akash Chopra also got angry.

Before the Afghanistan series began, Aakash Chopra had said that Sanju Samson had been dropped from the Zimbabwe series. Now that he has returned to the squad, he should open the innings. However, after Samson's dismissal for 10 in the first T20, Chopra's tone appears to have changed.

On his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, "My focus was on only one player; that was Sanju Samson. Because till now we have been saying that something wrong has happened to him. You won the World Cup, but after poor performance in two innings, he was dropped."

Aakash Chopra gave Sanju Samson a reality check, explaining that every innings will be considered from here on out, as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been sidelined despite his impressive performance in Zimbabwe. Aakash added that Samson doesn't have many opportunities now, as keeping Vaibhav out for an extended period would increase pressure on the management.
