Benefits of Yoga: People often face many problems as they grow older. But to keep our body healthy, we can do some yoga asanas which can prove beneficial for our body.

 

 

Exercises for Healthy Life: Advancing age invites many problems. Weak bones, joint pain, falling hair or body pain are common things. Even a small problem becomes a mountain in front of a gradually weakening body. However, yoga experts say that these problems can be got rid of. If yoga becomes the support of growing age and not a stick, then problems leave you and run away.

With increasing age, the mobility and flexibility of our joints decreases, due to which joint pain and other problems become common. In such a situation, we should do such asanas that work on our joints, ankle joints and flexibility. Kavita Arora, trainer and co-founder of 'Yoga for Life', advises which yoga should be done to overcome problems in old age. She told about five such yogasanas, which are like Sanjeevani along with reducing the symptoms of old age.

 

Which exercise is beneficial for which problem?

Kavita Arora said, "With old age or increasing age, our primary joints start weakening. Along with bones, muscles also start weakening. Flexibility in joints also decreases, due to which even small daily tasks become difficult. Even bending, getting up, lifting light weight also seems like a difficult task." She further said, "To maintain physical strength, we should do such asanas that work on the mobility of our joints, especially the ankle and hip joints and the flexibility of the waist."

Five asanas, including Vayu Niyasna, Virabhadrasana, Phalkasana, Ushtrasana, Lizard Pose, work on mobility and flexibility along with strengthening the muscles and bones. These asanas are also helpful in balancing the body weight and giving strength.

Doing these asanas will benefit the body

Vayu Niyasna or Pawanmuktasana helps to expel air from the body and improve digestion. To do this asana, you can lie down on your stomach and pull your legs towards the knees. Then, you can bend your head towards the knees. This asana helps in relieving gas, acidity and constipation.

 

Warrior 2 or Virabhadrasana, this asana strengthens the body, balances weight and calms the mind. Lizard Pose, it opens the hips and stretches the muscles. This yoga asana is also known as Utthan Prishtasana.

Plank Pose or Phalkasana, it helps in strengthening the body. In this, the body has to be kept in a straight line from head to heels. Camel Pose or Ushtrasana is also known as camel pose. This asana stretches the chest, back and thighs, makes the spine flexible and improves the overall alignment of the body.
