Bengaluru: Pallavi, wife of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash, has been arrested on murder charges. Police investigation has made several sensational revelations. Before allegedly killing her husband, the accused wife first threw chilli powder on his face and then stabbed him. Police have arrested wife Pallavi and her daughter Krithi as prime suspects in the murder case.

Om Prakash, a 1981 batch IPS officer and former DGP, was brutally stabbed to death at his residence on April 20. He was posted as DGP from 2015 to 2017. He also served as DG of Home Guard and Fire Services and retired in 2017. He originally hailed from Piprasi village in Champaran, Bihar. He had a master's degree in geology.

How did she kill her husband?

According to the report, after a heated argument, Om Prakash's wife Pallavi threw chilli powder on his face. When he started running here and there due to jealousy, Pallavi saw the opportunity and attacked him with a knife several times one after the other. Om Prakash had injury marks on many places on his body. After killing her husband, Pallavi told her friend on video call - I have killed the demon.

Dispute over property

Initial investigation revealed that there was a dispute between the husband and wife over a piece of land. Pallavi had also lodged her complaint with the HSR Layout police a few months ago. Om Prakash had given this property to one of his relatives. When the police did not take any action on Pallavi's complaint, she also staged a sit-in outside the police station.

Son filed a complaint

Son Karthikesh had lodged a complaint of murder with the police and suspected mother Pallavi and sister Krithi of plotting the murder. The former DGP lived in Bengaluru and there was a big fight in his family about 10 days ago. The police who reached the spot have recovered blood stains, a bottle and a knife. When the police reached the spot, the wife allegedly refused to open the door. Om Prakash was stabbed with a knife and the house was found soaked in blood.
