Technical and vocational education in Uttar Pradesh will be made employment oriented. Students will get opportunities for internship and apprenticeship. Engineering colleges of Basti, Gonda, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh will run on campuses from the next session. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave these instructions in the review meeting of technical education. ITI has been modernized with the cooperation of Tata Technology and placement for students has also increased.

State Bureau, Lucknow. Technical and vocational education will be made completely employment oriented, so that every student will get an opportunity to join the industries. Now technical education will not be limited to only degree. Every student will also get an opportunity for internship and apprenticeship.
From the next session, the newly established engineering colleges of Basti, Gonda, Mirzapur and Pratapgarh will operate from their campuses. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave several important instructions keeping in mind the future of the students in the review meeting of technical and vocational education at his residence on Kalidas Marg on Friday.
CM Yogi held a meeting
There are 324 government and 2982 private ITIs running in the state. With the help of Tata Technology, 212 government ITIs have been made state-of-the-art. In 2024-25, 1.25 lakh youth have got apprenticeship and employment, and more than 30 thousand students have applied in the PM Internship Scheme.
At the same time, placements of technical institutes have also increased. This year 1.64 lakh students have been enrolled in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) and the maximum package received is Rs 59.91 lakh per annum. Students have also received packages up to Rs 52 lakh in MMMUT University, Gorakhpur.
CM Yogi gave these instructions
After seeing these figures of the progress of technical education and institutions of the state, the Chief Minister directed that like government and aided polytechnic institutions, private institutions should also be included in the State Institutional Ranking Framework (SIRF), so that quality is maintained everywhere.
All the institutes were suggested to come forward with full preparation for NBA, NAAC and NIRF ranking. It was also clarified that no eligible student taking admission should be deprived of scholarship and fee reimbursement.
Students will get opportunity for internship
The Chief Minister stressed that education in technical institutes should not be just a degree but should become a means of practical knowledge and self-reliance. Every youth should get opportunities according to his skills, so that the dream of 'self-reliant India' can be realised. Technical Education Minister Ashish Patel, Vocational Education Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal, Technical Education Minister Ashish Patel were also present in the meeting.
