As India-Pakistan tensions escalate following Operation Sindoor, a former United States Air Force (USAF) pilot has voiced his support for India, citing his personal experience flying alongside both Indian and Pakistani pilots.
Retired USAF pilot Dale Starks, a seasoned A-10 Thunderbolt II expert, stated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that if a conflict were to intensify between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, his support would firmly lie with India.
“My Money Is on the Indians” – US Pilot Picks Side
In a widely shared post, Starks wrote:
“I’ve flown with both Indian and Pakistani fighter pilots during my career. All I can say is, if this matter escalates, my money is on the Indians.”
Starks further emphasized the professionalism and combat readiness of the Indian armed forces. In a reply to a comment, he said the Indian military was “much better”, praising their training and strategic discipline.
Support for India Echoes Across Social Media
Many users echoed Starks’ sentiments. One user commented,
“Indian armed forces are more than a billion strong, disciplined and polite. Their roar alone will cause an earthquake in Pakistan.”
Another added that Indian fighter pilots are not only highly professional but are well-equipped to deal with cross-border threats.
Context: Operation Sindoor and Pakistan’s Retaliation
Starks’ comments come amid heightened border tensions. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In retaliation, Pakistan attempted missile and drone strikes on 15 Indian locations on Thursday.
India successfully intercepted these attacks using its Russian-origin S-400 air defence system and Harpy drones, neutralizing at least eight incoming missiles and several drones. The Indian Defence Ministry confirmed that no major damage occurred and that debris collection is underway to present further evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism.
Global Reactions and Military Readiness
While India has received vocal support from countries like France, Russia, and Israel, comments from individuals like Dale Starks reflect a growing international understanding of India's stance on terrorism and national defence.
As diplomatic efforts continue, the Indian military remains on high alert, and preparations across border states, including Punjab and Rajasthan, have intensified.
