Ishan Kishan BCCI Central Contract: The BCCI central contract list has not been released yet, but there is an update about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma that they are going to remain in A+ grade. Media reports have claimed that Shreyas Iyer is going to get his contract back. Meanwhile, news has also come out on the future of wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan. Let us remind you that last year, both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were dropped from the central contract list by the BCCI due to not playing domestic cricket.
According to Sports Tak, BCCI may give Shreyas Iyer his contract back. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan may have to wait to get his contract back. Kishan was last seen representing the Indian team in a T20 match against Australia in November 2023.
Ishaan Kishan will have to wait
A source quoted by Sports Tak said, "Ishan Kishan will have to wait to get his central contract back. He has rectified the issues but has not yet performed well enough to bring him back to the central contract list."
After being dropped from the BCCI's central contract list, Ishan Kishan scored 320 runs at an average of just 23 in IPL 2024. Apart from this, Kishan has not been able to perform well in domestic matches as well. Since 2024, Kishan's average in T20 has been only 28.04. Apart from the Ranji Trophy, he could not perform well on the India A team's Australian tour.
On the other hand, talking about Shreyas Iyer, he was the highest run scorer for India in the Champions Trophy 2025. He scored 243 runs in the tournament. After being dropped from the central contract list, Iyer made KKR the champion under his captaincy in IPL 2024.
