A meeting has been called in the United Nations Security Council today regarding the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. On Pakistan's request, the UNSC has scheduled a meeting for Monday afternoon. During this time, there can be a discussion between the two countries regarding the Pahalgam attack. Let us tell you that Pakistan's name is included in the non-permanent countries of the UNSC.

After the Pahalgam attack, the whole world's eyes are on India and Pakistan. Fearing India, Pakistan had knocked on the door of the United Nations. Pakistan had appealed to convene an emergency meeting in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which was accepted. Today there will be a meeting in the UNSC on the issue of India and Pakistan.
The meeting will be held in a closed room
Pakistan is also included in the 10 non-permanent members of the UNSC. In such a situation, Pakistan had recommended calling this meeting regarding the increasing tension between the two countries. The Greek Presidency has scheduled it for today i.e. 5 May afternoon. This meeting between the two countries will be held in a closed room.
Non-permanent members of the United Nations
Let us tell you that in the United Nations, apart from the five permanent members - Russia, America, China, France and UK, there are 10 non-permanent members. The tenure of non-permanent members is only 2 years. Currently, Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, Pakistan, Panama, South Korea, Syria Leone, Slovenia and Somalia are included in the non-permanent members of the United Nations.
Greek ambassador gave a statement
Greece's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Evangelos Sekeris, has given a statement on the growing tension between India and Pakistan over the Pahalham attack. He says, "We strongly condemn terrorism, no matter where it takes place. But we are also concerned about the growing tension between the two countries.
If request comes for meeting..it might happen sooner rather than later', UNSC President & Greece's UN Envoy Sekeris on if a UNSC meet can happen on India-Pak.
India showed the mirror to Pakistan
Let us tell you that a week ago India had warned the United Nations that after playing the dirty game of terrorism, Pakistan spreads false propaganda on global platforms and tries to prove itself innocent. However, Pakistan requested the United Nations to call an emergency meeting on this issue. Pakistan's ambassador to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, said that the UN can call a meeting on this issue whenever it deems fit.
