EPFO credits 8.25% interest; has the money been credited to your account? Here's how to check your balance

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has started the process of crediting interest to the accounts of crores of members in the financial year 2025-26. The process of crediting interest to the accounts of crores of employees of the country has started till July 15. For the first time, such a large amount of interest will be credited in the month of July. Earlier, it used to take several weeks and months for the interest to be credited to the EPF account. Earlier, this process used to start by September. But this time, due to the new digital system and strengthening of the technical side, the process of interest credit to the account has started in the month of July itself.

New technology makes the process faster than ever before

Over the past few years, EPFO has significantly upgraded its digital system. Previously, employee data was stored in separate databases across 123 regional offices nationwide, resulting in significant time-consuming interest calculations and record verification. Now, all records have been integrated into a central digital database. Furthermore, data on millions of employees has been securely transferred to the new system. This modernized system has made the process of interest calculation and account crediting much faster and easier than before.

Member information and their accounts were verified. After matching all this information, the process of depositing the interest amount into the respective EPF account began. The EPFO also launched its new digital portal in the recent days. This has simplified many processes.
