In a shocking revelation, the case of a double murder in Jalandhar, Punjab, has been solved by the Kapurthala police. The victims, 44-year-old lawyer Sanjeev Kumar and his girlfriend Anju Pal, were kidnapped and killed on the night of April 19. The couple lived in a flat in the AGI building near Paragpur, Jalandhar. The police have arrested the main accused, Harvinder Singh Binder, from Kutch in Gujarat.
Harvinder Singh Binder, who was serving a double life sentence for the 2012 murder of DSP Balraj Singh Gill and his female friend Monika Kapila in Ludhiana, had been out on parole for two months. According to the police, Binder had to return to jail on April 23, but before doing so, he committed another double murder.
During his interrogation, Binder confessed to the murders, stating that he killed both Sanjeev and Anju. He claimed to have sold drugs (chitta) in jail and sent the money to Anju. The accused revealed that Anju had used the money to buy a flat, but later left him and began living with another lawyer. This betrayal deeply angered Binder, leading him to plot the murders. He said that he, along with two accomplices, killed both victims.
The police have already recovered Sanjeev's car in Ludhiana, and Binder has directed them to the bodies, further detailing his involvement in the horrific crime.
