Misbehavior with the AI chatbot Claude has become a topic of discussion. Anthropic has implemented new rules for the misuse of AI in its new policy. Learn about the new rules for Claude.
Anthropic Claude Policy
Asking an AI chatbot difficult questions, challenging its answers, or repeatedly requesting information on a topic is commonplace, but can persistent, unreasonable misbehavior with an AI be banned? A new policy from the AI company Anthropic has brought this question into focus.
After more than a year, the company has made changes to its Acceptable Use Policy. These changes aim to curb the misuse of AI. The new rules also prohibit persistent and unjustified abuse or mistreatment of the AI model, Claude. So, let's explore the new rules Anthropic has established for Claude.
What new rules did Anthropic make for Claude?
According to Anthropic's new rules, if a user repeatedly mistreats Claude without any reason, it will be considered a violation of the rules; however, expressing anger at the AI's answers, disagreeing with it, writing stories on dark themes, or asking questions to test its abilities are not included in this rule.
Can Claude stop the conversation himself?
Anthropic introduced a feature in August last year that allows Cloud to terminate conversations with users who repeatedly misbehave. This feature is available on Cloud.ai and Cloud Code. According to the company, currently, terminating conversations is the primary course of action in such cases, although it hasn't stated whether a user's account will be permanently suspended for repeated violations.
Ban on misuse of AI in weapons and elections.
Anthropic has also tightened the rules regarding the use of Cloud in elections and weapons-related activities. Using AI to create fake accounts, deliberately disseminate content, mislead people in political campaigns, or provide false information about voting will now be illegal. Furthermore, the use of Cloud to develop weapons-related technology, arm drones, and engage in weapons-related activities using autonomous machines is also prohibited.
Human control is essential in surveillance and robotics.
Anthropic has also established surveillance and robotics regulations for the use of Cloud. Cloud cannot be used to monitor someone without their permission, to track their activity from historical data, or to create surveillance systems. Furthermore, if Cloud is connected to a robot or machine that could cause injury, a trained person must be present to continuously monitor the machine and be able to stop it immediately if necessary.
