Devdutt Padikkal out on 199

Devdutt Padikkal became the victim of poor umpiring in the unofficial Test match against New Zealand A. Padikkal was unlucky enough to be given out on 199. His dismissal has sparked controversy, as Padikkal was left stunned by the umpire's decision. The video of the incident is going viral on social media. India A's total lead has now surpassed 200.

This incident occurred in the 89th over of India A's second innings. Devdutt Padikkal had scored 199 runs. The fifth ball of the over was short in length and on the line of leg stump. Padikkal attempted to push the ball slightly, but it went straight into the wicketkeeper's hands. The New Zealand A bowlers appealed, prompting the umpire to raise his finger. Padikkal was confident that the ball hadn't touched his bat, so he was surprised when the umpire raised his finger.

Why was DRS not taken?

In cricket, players have the option of using DRS to protest an umpire's decision. Why didn't Devdutt Padikkal signal for a review even when he was on 199? An unofficial Test match is being played between India A and New Zealand A. Unofficial matches don't have DRS, so Padikkal reluctantly had to accept the umpire's decision.

This is Devdutt Padikkal's highest individual score for India A. He missed out on a double century by just one run. However, thanks to his 199 runs, India A have taken a substantial lead.
