CSK appoints new bowling coach ahead of IPL 2025, former Indian all-rounder replaces Bravo

IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has appointed a new assistant bowling coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Earlier, Dwayne Bravo was in this role in the team.

Sridharan Sriram CSK's assistant bowling coach : Chennai Super Kings have appointed former Indian cricketer S Sriram as the new assistant bowling coach for the upcoming season of IPL. He will be part of the CSK coaching staff in IPL 2025. It includes head coach Stephen Fleming, Mike Hussey (batting coach), and Eric Simons (bowling consultant).

Sridharan Sriram has a lot of coaching experience. He has replaced Dwayne Bravo in the coaching staff of Chennai Super Kings. Bravo is involved as a mentor in last year's winner Kolkata Knight Riders. CSK will start its campaign in IPL 2025 by playing against Mumbai on 23 March.

Sridharan Sriram's coaching experience

Chennai-born Sriram was Australia's assistant coach from 2016 to 2022. In 2019, he was appointed batting and spin bowling coach by Royal Challengers Bangalore. In August 2022, Sriram was also appointed Bangladesh's T20 consultant ahead of the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. He joined Lucknow Super Giants as assistant coach for IPL 2024. He also served as assistant coach in Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals). 

The Chennai Super Kings squad for IPL 2025 includes R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal and Noor Ahmed as spinners. Deepak Hooda and Rachin Ravindra are the spin-bowling all-rounders.

Sriram played 8 international matches for India

49-year-old Sridharan Sriram has played 8 international matches for India. He did not play Test and T20 cricket for India. In 8 ODI matches, Sriram has scored 81 runs and taken 9 wickets. Apart from this, he has good first class experience. He has scored 9539 runs in 133 matches and taken 85 wickets.
