Crime: Sons turned monsters, killed widowed mother's lover, ripped open his stomach, then pulled out his intestines, threw them in the air and cut them with a knife...

In a heinous crime earlier this week in Gujarat, two brothers allegedly stabbed their mother's lover to death, cut out his intestines and threw them in the air.

Officials said the two siblings were angry with the victim, Ratanji Thakor (53), as they believed his relationship with their mother had "insulted" their deceased father. The incident took place in Gujarat's Gandhinagar district on January 26 when the victim, a mason by profession, was constructing a house with his fellow workers.

According to the police, the accused Sanjay Thakor (27) and Jayesh Thakor (23) attacked Ratanji with an iron rod in broad daylight. They then stabbed him in the stomach multiple times. During this, the victim's intestines came out. But the shocking thing is that the two men did not stop. The accused pulled out the victim's intestines, threw them in the air and cut them. Many eyewitnesses to the incident expressed deep grief and shock over the incident. According to a senior official, some labourers tried to save the victim during this horrific incident, but they failed to do so.

The victim is a mason by profession and was in a love affair with the accused's mother for many years.

Officials said both the brothers rejected the relationship, saying it was bringing shame to the family.

According to the victim's son Ajay, who has lodged an FIR against the accused, he told the police that the two brothers had earlier warned his father to stay away from their mother. He said that they had also fought with the victim several times. After the dispute, the villagers also held a panchayat on the issue, but no solution was found.

After the incident, the accused fled from the spot on a bike.

The police traced them through their mobile location and arrested them within a few hours of the incident. Officials said the weapons used in the murder have also been seized.

A case of murder and abetment to murder has been registered against the accused.
