As soon as the Champions Trophy 2025 concluded, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced its new central contract for players. A total of 22 players have been given contracts, categorized into five different grades. However, five players from the previous central contract have been dropped.

The new contract sees star pacer Taskin Ahmed as the only player in Grade A+, making him the highest-paid cricketer in Bangladesh this year. The players have been assigned different grades with a corresponding monthly salary:

5 Players Dropped from the Central Contract
BCB has taken a bold step by excluding five players from this year's central contract:
- Shakib Al Hasan – Retired from Test & T20 cricket; not included in ODIs. Also under scrutiny for a suspect bowling action.
- Zakir Hasan
- Mahmudul Hasan Joy
- Naim Hasan
- Nurul Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan’s exclusion is not surprising, given his retirement and ongoing issues. However, the absence of the other four players raises questions about their future in Bangladesh cricket.
