Cricket Australia issues statement on Cameron Green not bowling, drops bomb on KKR!

Cricket Australia Statement on Cameron Green: All-rounder Cameron Green was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹25.20 crore. However, he played as a batsman in the first match. He did not bowl.

 

Cricket Australia issued a statement on Cameron Green not bowling.

In IPL 2026, a match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians won the match resoundingly, defeating KKR in the final over. Kolkata posted a mammoth total of 220 runs after batting first, but their bowlers were unable to defend the total. Australian all-rounder Cameron Green did not bowl for KKR, which caused controversy after the match. Cricket Australia has now issued a statement regarding this.

Rahane surprised everyone with his statement

Cricket Australia stated that KKR management was fully aware of Cameron Green's injury, while KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane stated after the loss against Mumbai Indians that only Cricket Australia would know why Green wasn't bowling. In fact, when asked about Green's absence, Rahane replied, "Ask Cricket Australia."

When captain Ajinkya Rahane was asked about the incident after the match, he shrugged it off, saying, "Go ask Cricket Australia why Green didn't bowl." Cricket Australia has now issued a sharp comment on the controversy.

KKR know that Green will not be able to bowl – Cricket Australia

Cricket Australia said, "Cameron Green has suffered a back injury due to which he will not be able to bowl for some time. He will be able to bowl after 10-12 days and KKR is fully aware of this."

Green did not bowl from September 2024 to October 2025. He bowled in the T20 World Cup match against Oman on February 20th. He bowled only 19 balls in the entire World Cup. KKR bought Green for ₹25.20 crore, making him the most expensive foreign player.
