Chaitra Navratri 2025: Chaitra Navratri 2025 will begin on Sunday, March 30 and end on Sunday, April 6. This year Navratri will be only 8 days long as Panchami Tithi will end in the middle. Both Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami will be celebrated on Sunday, April 6. Parana (completion) of Navratri fast will be done on Monday, April 7. Which is called Parana Divas. On this day, Udyaapan (completion) of Navratri fast is done and special worship of Goddess Durga is done.

Importance of Parana:
- On this day, after nine days of worship of Goddess Durga, devotees conclude the fast by performing havan, Kanya pujan and offering of bhog.
- It is believed that starting new work on this day by taking blessings of the Mother Goddess is very auspicious.
- On the day of Parana, giving charity and feeding the needy is considered very virtuous.
How to do Parana?
- Take bath in the morning and worship Maa Durga and perform havan.
- Perform Kanya puja and feed 9 girls and take their blessings.
- After preparing satvik food at home, first offer it to Maa Durga and then break the fast.
- Doing charity on this day yields special rewards.
Method of Kanya Pujan:
Kanya Pujan is done on Ashtami or Navami Tithi of Navratri, in which nine girls aged 2 to 10 years are invited as nine forms of the Goddess and one boy (Batuk) is invited as the gentle form of Lord Bhairav.
For worship, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes, then wash the feet of the girls and make them sit on a seat. Apply Tilak on them, tie Kalava on their hands, serve them prasad of Puri, black gram and Halwa. After the meal, take their blessings by giving Dakshina, gifts or clothes according to your capacity. Kanya Pujan brings blessings of Goddess Durga and brings happiness and prosperity in the house.
