There was one player in this auction who was showered with crores of rupees. He got so much money that he became the most expensive foreign player in IPL history. However, the very next day, that player was out after scoring one run in the Ashes. Here we are talking about Australia's all-rounder Cameron Green, who got a huge price of Rs 25.20 crores in the auction held in Abu Dhabi.
When he came out to bat in the first innings of the Adelaide Test, which began on December 17, 2025, the day after the auction, he could not score even a single run and returned to the pavilion without opening his account.

Cameron Green faced just two balls during the first innings of the Adelaide Test before being dismissed by Jofra Archer. After lunch on the first day of the third Test, Green was deceived by Archer's 138 kmph delivery and was caught by Brydon Carse at midwicket.

In the mini-auction for IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired Cameron Green for a whopping ₹25.20 crore (approximately $2.52 billion). With this price, Green broke Mitchell Starc's record for being the most expensive foreign player in the IPL. Mitchell Starc was also purchased by KKR for ₹24.75 crore (approximately $2.57 billion) for IPL 2024.
