Cameron Green Failed In Ashes After Getting 25.20 Crores In IPL 2026: A mini auction for the 19th season of the Indian Premier League took place yesterday, i.e., on December 16, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. There was one player in this auction who was showered with crores of rupees. He got so much money that he became the most expensive foreign player in IPL history. However, the very next day, that player was out after scoring one run in the Ashes. Here we are talking about Australia's all-rounder Cameron Green, who got a huge price of Rs 25.20 crores in the auction held in Abu Dhabi.

When he came out to bat in the first innings of the Adelaide Test, which began on December 17, 2025, the day after the auction, he could not score even a single run and returned to the pavilion without opening his account.

Archer dismissed the most expensive foreign player in the IPL.

Cameron Green faced just two balls during the first innings of the Adelaide Test before being dismissed by Jofra Archer. After lunch on the first day of the third Test, Green was deceived by Archer's 138 kmph delivery and was caught by Brydon Carse at midwicket.

IPL's most expensive player fares poorly in the Ashes

The third Test of the five-match Ashes series between Australia and England is being played in Adelaide. The first two Tests have gone in Australia's favor, meaning they lead the series 2-0. Meanwhile, KKR will be unhappy with Green's dismissal in the Adelaide Test. Previously, Green had failed to convert good starts into big scores in two innings of two Tests against England. He scored 24 runs in one innings in Perth, while he scored 45 runs in Brisbane.

In the mini-auction for IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired Cameron Green for a whopping ₹25.20 crore (approximately $2.52 billion). With this price, Green broke Mitchell Starc's record for being the most expensive foreign player in the IPL. Mitchell Starc was also purchased by KKR for ₹24.75 crore (approximately $2.57 billion) for IPL 2024.
