The Assam State-Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) has announced bumper recruitment for the year 2026. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 2,972 posts will be filled in the Assam Police, Forest Department, and Fire Services. Significantly, 10th, 12th, and graduate candidates can also apply for these positions.
In which departments will recruitment take place?
This recruitment drive, conducted by the SLPRB, covers several departments, including the Assam Police, the Assam Forest Department, the Assam Fire and Emergency Service, and the AFPF (Assam Forest Protection Force). Which posts will be recruited?
A total of 2,972 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. Of these, the largest number of vacancies are for Constable (Grade III), at 733. Additionally, 642 posts for Constable (WO/WT) and 504 for Forest Guard will be filled. 405 posts have been designated for AFPF Constables, while 337 posts for Firemen will be recruited. These include 211 posts for Forester (Grade I), 74 for Game Watcher, and 41 for Emergency Rescuer. Additionally, 11 posts for Bandsman, 10 for Boatman, and 2 for Bugler have been designated. Furthermore, one post each has been designated for Constable (UB) and Sub-Officer.
What qualifications are required
Different educational qualifications are required for different positions in this recruitment process. For the Forester (Grade I) position, a candidate must be a graduate of a recognized university. For technical positions like Constable (WO/WT) and Sub-Officer, passing the 12th grade in the science stream is mandatory, with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as subjects. For Forest Guard, Game Watcher, and Constable (UB), candidates with 12th-grade degrees can apply. For positions like AFPF Constable, Bandsman, and Bugler, only a 10th-grade pass is sufficient. Furthermore, for the position of Boatman, a candidate must have a good knowledge of swimming.
Age Limit
The minimum age for this recruitment is generally 18 years. The maximum age will depend on the position. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government regulations.
How much salary will you get?
