"Brutal Murder in Jharkhand: Man Beheads Neighbor for Opposing Dirty Water Dispute"

In a horrifying incident from Dumka district in Jharkhand, a 55-year-old woman was publicly beheaded with a sword by her neighbor over a dispute related to drainage water. The accused, identified as Phoolchand Sah alias Chhotu, attacked Vimla Devi, the wife of local school teacher Manoj Singh, on Wednesday evening in the Kevatpada locality near the Birsa Agricultural Research Center.

The Shocking Sequence of Events:

According to eyewitnesses, Manoj Singh and his wife were returning home when they confronted Chhotu for pouring dirty water in front of their house — a long-standing issue that had caused repeated clashes between the two families.

The situation escalated quickly. In a sudden fit of rage, Chhotu fetched a sword from his house and beheaded Vimla Devi in front of onlookers. When her husband tried to intervene, the accused attacked him too, leaving him seriously injured. Manoj Singh is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Phool Jhano Medical College.

Accused’s Father is a Policeman

Locals revealed that the accused often boasted about his father’s position — an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Hazaribagh district police — and frequently abused the victim’s family, allegedly using his father's status to intimidate others.

Surrender and Investigation

After the murder, Chhotu surrendered to the police. Authorities have recovered the murder weapon, and Vimla Devi's body has been taken for a postmortem. Police say a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

Community in Shock

This broad daylight murder over a neighborhood dispute has left the entire area in shock. Locals are demanding strict action and fear that the accused’s police connections might interfere with justice. The police have assured an impartial investigation.
