"Boiling Oil, Salt, and Chilli: Hotel Staff in UP Brutally Attack Customers Over a Salad Complaint"

In a horrifying incident in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, a simple request for salad turned into a nightmare for two customers when hotel staff allegedly poured boiling oil on them, followed by salt and chilli powder, leaving both men critically injured.

The victims, Munawwar and his friend Arif, had gone to eat at Irfan’s Hotel on Kairana Road late Saturday night. When their food arrived late and without the salad they had requested, they raised a complaint with the hotel staff and operator.

Instead of addressing the issue, things escalated dangerously. The hotel owner, Irfan, along with staff members Shahrukh and Sahil, allegedly poured hot oil on both men. One employee then added salt and red chilli powder to their burns—an act so vicious it caused one of the men serious damage to his eyes.

Both victims were rushed to the local health center and later referred to a district hospital due to the severity of their injuries.

The victims’ families have filed a police complaint demanding strict action against the hotel operator and staff. Police are currently investigating the matter, and a case has been registered.

“We’ve received a complaint and an inquiry is underway. Action will be taken against those found guilty,” said Station In-charge Kshitij Kumar.
