"Bihar mein bahaar hai, Vaibhav Suryavanshi ka shikhar hai!" The whole of Bihar is celebrating its new cricketing hero—14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi—after his explosive century for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. And the applause hasn’t just been limited to fans—Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally stepped in to recognize the young star’s achievement.
As soon as Vaibhav’s record-breaking 35-ball century lit up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the news quickly reached Patna. Moved by the performance, CM Nitish Kumar personally called Vaibhav to congratulate him and announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh, applauding him for becoming the youngest Indian to score an IPL century.

Vaibhav, who hammered 101 runs off just 38 balls—including 11 towering sixes—has raked in an estimated ₹30 lakh from rewards and match earnings combined. This includes:
- ₹10 lakh from the Bihar government
- ₹4 lakh from post-match awards (Player of the Match, Most Sixes, and Striker of the Match)
- ₹15.35 lakh as his match fee under his ₹1.10 crore IPL contract
At just 14, Vaibhav has not only become a national sensation but also an inspiration for thousands of aspiring cricketers across Bihar and India. With state support behind him and fans across the country cheering him on, this is likely just the beginning of a stellar journey.
