Big fraud in HDFC Bank, savings worth crores put at stake in IPL betting

HDFC Bank: A customer narrating his ordeal said that he tried to withdraw the amount deposited in FD for his daughter's marriage, but found out that Rs 5 lakh had already been withdrawn from his account.

 

 

 

HDFC Bank: A case of embezzlement of crores of rupees from HDFC Bank has come to light in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. The bank account holders have made serious allegations against the bank employees of preparing fake documents and withdrawing lakhs of rupees and investing it in IPL betting.

 

 

 

Robbery on account holders' deposits

So far, 6 customers have lodged a complaint about their savings disappearing. Many of the victims of fraud said that when they tried to withdraw money from their FD (Fixed Deposit), they found out that their deposited money had already disappeared.

Serious allegations against bank employees

The complainants claim that the bank employees withdrew money from their accounts through various methods like fake credit cards, fake FDs, self cheques and online transactions. Many customers also said that despite depositing cash, the balance was not showing in their accounts.

The money saved for the daughter's wedding was also looted

A customer narrating his ordeal said that he tried to withdraw the amount deposited in FD for his daughter's wedding, but found out that Rs 5 lakh had already been withdrawn from his account. Other similarly aggrieved customers have also complained that their deposits are missing. According to sources, some employees of the bank had invested the customers' money in IPL betting. However, this claim has not been officially confirmed yet.

Police accused of negligence

The victims say that when they reached the Ganj police station with their complaint, the police did not listen to them. Finally, the troubled customers lodged a complaint in the Collector's office, after which the administration ordered an investigation into the matter.
