Just before IPL 2026, the BCCI has implemented some new and strict rules for players and teams. Restrictions have been imposed on everything from practice to the presence of cricketers' family members. A new rule has also been introduced regarding the Purple and Orange Caps, and players will no longer be allowed to wear sleeveless jerseys during post-match presentations. Here's a list of all the rules that will apply to IPL 2026.

List of all the new rules of IPL 2026:

-Open net practice has been banned. Each team will be provided with two nets.

-If one team finishes practice early, the other team will not be able to use its nets.

-On practice days, it will be mandatory for players to come to the ground by team bus.

Family members will not be permitted to accompany players to the dressing room during practice. Only authorized staff will be permitted to enter the dressing room.

-Family members can come to the ground in a separate vehicle and sit in the hospitality area, if they wish.

Players have been asked not to hit the ball towards the LED boards. Sitting in front of the LED boards will also be prohibited.

-Any player who has the Orange Cap or Purple Cap will be required to wear the cap for at least 2 overs first.

Ban on floppy caps, sleeveless jerseys and slippers in post-match presentations.

-No fitness test will be conducted on the match day at the Main Square.

-For breaking the rules, first a warning will be given, then provision for punishment.

-New match-day protocols: There will be only 12 support staff, including a doctor, and each staff member will be required to bring an accreditation card.

-If any player wants to change his jersey number, he will have to inform BCCI 24 hours in advance.
