BCCI Makes Squad Change for Sri Lanka Tri-Series, Young All-Rounder Gets Big Opportunity

With the Indian Premier League 2026 season now nearing its conclusion, attention is gradually shifting back toward international and developmental cricket. Ahead of the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an important change to the India-A squad.

Young all-rounder Anukul Roy has been drafted into the India-A team, replacing spinner Harsh Dubey, who recently earned his maiden call-up to the senior Indian squad for the Afghanistan series.

The decision comes as India prepares simultaneously for:

  • The senior series against Afghanistan national cricket team
  • The India-A tri-series involving Sri Lanka-A and Afghanistan-A

Harsh Dubey Promoted to Senior India Team

According to the BCCI, Harsh Dubey has been released from the India-A squad after being selected for India’s senior Test and ODI squads against Afghanistan.

Dubey’s promotion comes following his impressive domestic performances, particularly in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic competitions.

Since the schedules of both tournaments overlap, the young spinner will now focus entirely on preparing for his senior international debut.

Meanwhile, India’s senior series against Afghanistan will run from June 6 to June 20.
