After JAAT's Setback, Sunny Deol Set to Clash with Bollywood's Ruthless Villain Abhimanyu Singh in Lahore 1947!

Sunny Deol may have taken a hit with JAAT, but the roar of "Paaji" still echoes at the box office. Despite the high-budget film underperforming, it pulled in ₹100 crore—proving that Deol’s star power remains unshaken. So much so that a sequel was announced even before the dust settled. But before fans get to JAAT 2, Sunny is gearing up for another cinematic war—this time, against a villain known for making heroes sweat: Abhimanyu Singh.

After Randeep, It’s Abhimanyu’s Turn

Following his showdown with Randeep Hooda, Sunny Deol will next lock horns with Abhimanyu Singh in the upcoming Aamir Khan production Lahore 1947. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featuring Preity Zinta in a much-anticipated comeback, the film is a historical drama set around the Partition.

Singh, notorious for his intense negative roles, is stepping in as the film’s main antagonist. From Aks and Gulaal to Sooryavanshi and Bachchan Pandey, Singh has carved a niche for portraying menacing villains with flair. In Lahore 1947, he's expected to bring the same ferocity to the screen—opposite none other than Deol himself.

Sunny Deol Charges ₹40 Crore, Abhimanyu Gets ₹2 Crore

While Abhimanyu is earning ₹2 crore for the film, Sunny Deol is reportedly charging over ₹40 crore. It’s a clear indication of the scale and expectations riding on his performance. But beyond numbers, the film promises a dramatic face-off between two intense performers—an actor known for his fists of fury and a villain who leaves a lasting impact.

What’s Next for Sunny Deol?

Apart from Lahore 1947, Sunny Deol is also wrapping up Border 2, which he’s currently filming in Dehradun. He’s actively keeping fans updated with behind-the-scenes glimpses. Meanwhile, buzz is growing around another of his projects titled Safar, likely to arrive on OTT by year-end.

Adding to the excitement, Sunny may also appear in cameos in two South Indian films—news that, if confirmed, will be a massive treat for fans.
