Recently, ADR report has revealed important information related to the income and expenditure of major political parties. It has been told that among the regional parties, TMC and BRS have earned a large amount through electoral bonds. See all the figures in this news.

ADR Report: Regional parties received a large part of their income in the financial year 2023-24 through electoral bonds, which were canceled by the Supreme Court on 15 February 2024. This information has come to light according to the annual audit reports submitted to the Election Commission. Trinamool Congress received Rs 612.4 crore between March 31, 2023 and February 15, 2024, followed by BRS which received bonds worth Rs 495.5 crore.
Apart from this, BJD got Rs 245.5 crore, TDP got Rs 174.1 crore, YSR Congress Party got Rs 121.5 crore, DMK got Rs 60 crore, JMM got Rs 11.5 crore and Sikkim Democratic Front got Rs 5.5 crore. 95 percent of TMC's total income came from bonds, while for BRS it was 72%, for BJD it was 82%, for TDP it was 61%, for YSRCP it was 64%, for DMK it was 33%, for JMM it was 73%.
44% of AAP's money is through poll bonds
Last fiscal, 44 per cent of AAP's income came through poll bonds. Of the four national parties whose annual audit reports for 2023-24 are available on the Election Commission's website, only AAP has declared contributions through electoral bonds. However, since AAP's 2023-24 report does not declare any donations from electoral trusts, it can be safe to assume that the entire Rs 10.1 crore shown under 'Donations from bonds/trusts' came from bonds. This is more than 44 per cent of the total income declared by AAP in 2023-24.
TMC got an increase of 88 percent
A comparison of the annual audit reports of 2023-24 and 2022-23 shows that TMC has seen an 88% increase through electoral bonds. BJD has seen an increase of 61%, YSRCP 133%, TDP 412% and JMM 858%. SDF has not declared any donation through bonds in 2022-23.
67 percent decline for DMK
However, DMK's income through electoral bonds declined by 67 per cent in 2023-24 compared to the previous year, while that of BRS declined by 6.3%. With regard to the total income declared for the year 2023-24 by the four national parties - BSP, AAP, CPM and National People's Party (NPP), BSP had the highest income of Rs 64.8 crore (up from Rs 29.3 crore in 2022-23), followed by AAP at Rs 22.7 crore (down from Rs 85.2 crore), NPP at Rs 22.4 lakh (down from Rs 7.6 crore) and CPM at Rs 16.8 lakh (up from Rs 14.2 lakh). The total expenditure declared by BSP for the last fiscal is Rs 43.2 crore, AAP at Rs 34.1 crore, NPP at Rs 1.1 crore and CPM at Rs 12.7 lakh.
BRS earned Rs 685.5 crore
Among regional parties, BRS has declared the highest income of Rs 685.5 crore in 2023-24 (less than Rs 737.7 crore in 2022-23), followed by TMC Rs 646.4 crore (more than Rs 333.4 crore), BJD Rs 297.8 crore (more than Rs 181 crore), TDP Rs 285.1 crore (more than Rs 64 crore), YSRCP Rs 191 crore (more than Rs 74.8 crore), DMK Rs 181 crore (less than Rs 214.3 crore).
Apart from this, Samajwadi Party has announced Rs 26.1 crore (less than Rs 32.9 crore), CPI Rs 19.5 crore (more than Rs 15.3 crore), JMM Rs 15.8 crore (more than Rs 2.7 crore). In 2023-24, YSRCP spent Rs 295.8 crore, BRS Rs 254.9 crore, TMC Rs 231.5 crore, DMK Rs 200 crore, TDP Rs 121.1 crore, BJD Rs 44 crore, SP Rs 39.4 crore and CPI Rs 13.8 crore.
