Mood Affect: A research has shown that there will be happiness in any home only when the owner and mistress of the house are happy. In a recent study, it was found that the good mood of the spouse is the key to a happy life.

Health: Now research has also proved that the happiness of any home is possible only when the owner or mistress of the house is happy. A recent study published in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology found that the good mood of the life partner is a guarantee of happiness. But how does this happen? Actually, researchers studied the data of 321 couples from Germany and Canada and found that when someone's partner feels happier, it reduces their cortisol (stress hormone) level.
The effect was seen even more in the elderly
This effect was seen more especially in the elderly who were happy with their long and happy life. It is worth noting that the opposite was not seen. This means that if one of the couple is in a bad mood, then it does not affect the cortisol level of the spouse. The study was not done on young couples but on mature spouses. These were those whose age was between 56 to 87 and the average duration of their relationship was 43.97 years, i.e. these people were together for about 44 years.
As you age, it becomes more difficult to control your mood
The findings suggest that older couples in long-term committed relationships find ways to protect each other from the effects of negative emotions. This is important, because as people age, it often becomes harder to control their moods. Cortisol in older adults remains elevated for a long time after a stressful event, and the aging brain struggles to keep it in check.
These results may act as a psychological buffer for age-related stress. However, this is not the first time science has presented a study on a happy partner. A 2016 study also found something similar. Something similar came to light in an 85-year-long Harvard research project. It became clear that a happy marriage is the key to a long, healthy life.
