Maruti Suzuki: Auto giant Maruti Suzuki is planning a major investment of ₹35,000 crore in Khorja, Gujarat. This is expected to generate employment for approximately 12,000 people.

Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki India Limited is investing ₹35,000 crore to build a new plant in Khorja, Gujarat. The company plans to produce a total of 1 million cars annually at this plant. Furthermore, the construction of this new auto plant is expected to provide employment to approximately 12,000 people.
The factory will be set up on 1,750 acres of land.
Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant will be located on 1,750 acres of land provided by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). The company's MD, Mr. Hitachi Takeuchi, presented the investment letter to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at a ceremony between the state government and the automaker in Gandhinagar. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Sunil Kakkar, Maruti Suzuki's full-time director and executive committee member, were also present.
Gujarat will progress in the auto sector
The Chief Minister posted on his official Instagram account, writing, "Happy to present the letter of investment from Maruti Suzuki India Limited to the Government of Gujarat for setting up a mega car manufacturing facility in Khordha with an investment of Rs 35,000 crore." He further stated that the project will promote the development of ancillary units and MSMEs, leading to the creation of a strong auto manufacturing cluster.
CM Patel praised the India-Japan partnership, saying Maruti Suzuki's presence reflects global confidence in Gujarat's policy-driven governance, world-class infrastructure, and industry-friendly ecosystem. "Gujarat has strongly emerged as one of India's leading automobile hubs and a preferred destination for global investors," he said.
In a post on X, Deputy CM Sanghvi said, "This is a proud moment for Gujarat's growth story, which has seen significant investment commitments that will bring jobs, innovation and industrial growth to the state. Partnerships like these demonstrate how a conducive environment can attract large companies to invest and expand."
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car manufacturer, started operations in 1983 with its first production facility in Gurugram, Haryana.
