G Kamalini Debut Record Alert in WPL 2025: Former champions Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a spectacular victory by defeating Gujarat Giants by five wickets with 23 balls to spare in the fifth match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) at the Kotambi Stadium here on Tuesday. In this match, the Mumbai team also gave India's Under-19 star G Kamalini a chance to debut and she created history with her debut in this match.
Now Kamalini has become the youngest debutant in the history of the Women's Premier League (WPL). On Tuesday, February 18, the left-handed batsman got her first WPL cap for MI at the age of 16 years and 213 days. She surpassed her Under-19 teammate Shabnam Shakeel, who debuted for the Giants in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2024 at the age of 16 years and 263 days.
Recently, Kamalini and Shabnam's Under-19 teammate, VJ Joshitha became the youngest WPL debutant for RCB at the age of 18 years and 205 days.

Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Parunika Sisodiya also played her first match for MI. Parunika, Kamalini, Shabnam and Joshitha were part of India's Under-19 team that won the T20 World Cup in Malaysia, defeating South Africa in the final. Parunika took 10 wickets and was India's most economical bowler, while Kamalini scored two half-centuries during the tournament.
