Meta AI Glasses: Meta is bringing AI glasses that record every activity.

Meta AI Glasses: Meta is launching AI-powered smartglasses that will record your every activity. From what you're looking at to what you're listening to, everything will be recorded in these smart glasses. These glasses will not only monitor your activity but also remember your conversations and identify places you've been. You can also ask them what happened during the day, and they'll provide you with all the information, just like an assistant. While this all sounds great, it's nothing less than a nightmare when it comes to privacy.

How will the new feature work?

According to media reports, Meta is developing new smartglasses based on a feature from its existing models. Internally, this feature is known as "Super Sensing." This feature requires activation in the current model, but the new glasses won't require this. The new smartglasses will continuously collect visual and audio information. This information will be passed to Meta AI so that it has more context to answer your questions. If this technology is implemented, smartglasses will become even more powerful, acting as an assistant or guide to answer your questions.

The new glasses will capture photos and audio every few seconds.

Reports indicate that the prototype glasses are designed to capture photos every few seconds and listen to surrounding audio. It's being said that Meta will not permanently store this recorded data. It will simply extract the metadata and upload it to its servers, making it easier for Meta AI to answer user questions.

Concerns are being raised about privacy.

Even though Meta doesn't intend to permanently store photos and audio recordings, concerns are being raised about surveillance and consent. Meta already has a poor record on privacy. Furthermore, Meta has also been under scrutiny for its facial recognition capabilities. Reports suggest that the Super Sensing feature is being described as an AI function rather than a photo and video recording mode. Therefore, the LED indicator on the smart glasses will be off while this feature is in use, raising concerns about the possibility of people being recorded surreptitiously or without their consent.
