If you wake up in the morning and find that your WhatsApp has suddenly stopped working and a message 'This account is under review for 24 hours' is appearing on your screen, then do not panic. WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging platform owned by Meta, has suddenly launched a major security campaign in which thousands of user accounts have been put under review for 24 hours. This sudden ban on the use of the app has created panic among professionals, industries and common users across the country. WhatsApp claims that this step has been taken to stop spam, fake news and suspicious activity.
On Monday evening, WhatsApp suddenly put several user accounts under investigation, preventing them from using the app's features for 24 hours. This decision angered people in many countries, including India, and sparked a flood of complaints on social media. Users began experiencing this problem on WhatsApp around 8 p.m. Monday night. Upon opening the app, a message appeared stating that their account was under review and that their activity and phone information were being reviewed. This decision was announced within 24 hours. The app also provided instructions for responsible use and options to obtain information about stolen phones or accounts. According to WhatsApp's terms of service, AI machine learning systems are continuously working to prevent spam and unwanted activity on the platform.
Bulk messaging or automation: Forwarding a single message to a large number of unknown people in a short period of time or using automated software/bots.
Bulk complaints from unknown numbers: If many people have recently reported spam, scam, or unwanted messages to your number.
Using third-party apps: Using unauthorized and unsafe apps like GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus, etc. instead of the official WhatsApp app.
Spreading fake or misleading news : Repeatedly sharing links or content that the platform's systems identify as spam or malware.
What to do if your account is stuck in 24-hour review?
Wait 24 hours: First, wait for the review period to end. In most cases, the system will automatically verify and restore the account without deleting any data.
Appeal : Click the 'Request a Review' option on the app screen and tell the support team that you haven't broken any rules.
Update the app: Go to the Play Store or App Store and update to the latest official version of WhatsApp.
Contact the support team by email: If the service still isn't restored after 24 hours, email WhatsApp support (support@whatsapp.com) with your registered phone number and a screenshot.
