Jasprit Bumrah leads the Indian bowling attack, possessing the ability to single-handedly turn the tide of a match. Former cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has issued a warning to the Indian team. He believes that Team India will face difficulties after Ashwin's retirement. The former cricketer feels that the batting is fine, but the bowling may seem less appealing to the next generation. Speaking on Revsportz, Ashwin said, "The quality of batsmen we have in white-ball cricket is unmatched. In the next 10 years, Team India will win many white-ball trophies, and this will be due to our batting."
However, he expressed concern about the future of Jasprit Bumrah. He said, " Jasprit Bumrah 's role is crucial in this white-ball team. What will happen after him?" Ashwin believes that while bowlers win matches, the attraction of youngsters to becoming bowlers may diminish in the future.
Ashwin said, "I'm concerned that bowling is no longer as attractive as batting, which could be why children aren't taking up the sport. By sport, I mean that batting and bowling are two different sports. Bowling as a sport isn't attractive; it feels like you're just entertaining them. You're giving them the opportunity to hit sixes and fours. So why would anyone think bowling will win us a tournament or a series?"
Regarding the dressing room atmosphere, Ashwin said Indian cricket is about more than just a few individuals. He also supported Gautam Gambhir's view that he puts the team above individual players.
Ashwin said, "I like Gautam Gambhir. People may have different opinions about him, but he's a man who puts the team above individual players. He gives credit for victories to the entire team rather than just one player. I like that about him."
