On Saturday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures in Delhi-NCR reached 36 degrees Celsius in the second week of March, indicating a severe heatwave this year. The Meteorological Department says maximum temperatures are rising rapidly, and minimum temperatures are hovering around 19 degrees Celsius. Scientists predict this year's heat could break previous records.

Signs of summer in March

Since the beginning of March, Delhi-NCR has been experiencing clear signs of heatwaves. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature could reach around 36 degrees Celsius by the second week of March. Nighttime temperatures are also rapidly warming, with minimum temperatures hovering around 19 degrees Celsius. The consistently rising maximum and minimum temperatures have raised concerns among weather experts.

Looking at past weather data, this winter hasn't been particularly cold. Nighttime temperatures began to drop in September, but daytime cold was less pronounced. Compared to 2025, Delhi-NCR and other states have experienced less cold this year. Gujarat experienced a mild winter, but there are signs of a more intense summer.

Meteorologists predict that March will be warmer than normal. April and May may see fluctuating weather . Light rain or hail is expected in some areas, and thunderstorms are also possible.
