UP Crime News: Showed the dream of marriage, then the bride ran away with the Tantrik, cheated him of so many rupees

A unique case of fraud in the name of marriage has come to light in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, where a tantrik and a fraud bride cheated a person of lakhs of rupees in the guise of fulfilling his dream of marriage. The bride dressed in red ran away with jewellery and cash on the pretext of court marriage. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
Lured by dreams of marriage,
Neeraj Gupta, a resident of Sandila town in Hardoi, contacted a tantrik who was struggling to find a bride. The tantrik assured him of getting him married and convinced him by showing him a picture of a beautiful girl. Excited by this prospect, Neeraj spent Rs 3.5 lakh on jewellery and started preparing for a court marriage.
On the day of court marriage, the bride came dressed in a red
dress. On the advice of the tantrik, Neeraj wasted no time in making her wear expensive jewellery. However, on the pretext of getting ready, the bride disappeared with a bag full of jewellery and cash. When she did not return for a long time, Neeraj realised that he had been duped.
Police investigation underway
Neeraj reported the incident to the police. Circle Officer (CO) Sadar Ankit Mishra confirmed that a case of fraud in the guise of marriage has been registered. Teams have been deployed to nab the tantrik and the duped bride.
