Advance booking window reduced to 60 days

Indian Railways has officially reduced the time limit for advance ticket booking to 60 days, including the day of travel.

What about bookings made 3 or 4 months ago?

A common concern among passengers is whether this new rule will affect bookings made 3 or 4 months ago.

Railways has clarified that existing bookings made beyond the new 60-day limit will remain valid. There is no change for those who have already reserved their seats before the new rule came into effect.

Exceptions to the rule

Foreign tourists: The existing 365-day advance booking window for foreign tourists will remain unchanged.

Special day express trains: Trains like Taj Express and Gomti Express will continue to follow their previous reservation rules.

Cancellations still allowed: Even if the booking exceeds the new 60-day limit, cancellations will still be allowed as per existing policies.
