Captain Shubman Gill is India's leading run-scorer in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle, amassing 974 runs in 16 innings across nine matches. He will reach 1,000 runs by scoring 26 runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka. Gill has scored five centuries and one half-century in the ongoing cycle.
2. KL Rahul
Opener KL Rahul is second on the list, having scored 913 runs in 19 innings across 10 Tests. He too can reach 1000 runs in the ongoing series with a good innings during the second match against Sri Lanka. Rahul has scored three centuries and four half-centuries during this period.
3. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is in third place. The all-rounder has scored 747 runs in 17 innings in the current cycle, including two centuries. He has also scored six half-centuries.
