The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO ) headquarters in Bengaluru received an email threatening to blow up the building on Thursday (July 2, 2026). This sent shockwaves throughout ISRO headquarters. Following the email threat, local police and security agencies responded immediately. As a precaution, the police immediately evacuated the ISRO headquarters complex, following which the Bengaluru police and bomb disposal squad conducted a search operation throughout the ISRO headquarters complex to search for bombs.
However, the local police or bomb squad have not yet reported finding anything sensitive. Following their security investigation, the police have declared the email a hoax, but security agencies are taking the matter very seriously.

Providing information regarding this matter, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh stated that such threats at a highly sensitive and important location like ISRO headquarters are being taken very seriously. The Bengaluru police are investigating the matter in collaboration with the country's top investigative agencies.
He further stated that the ISRO bomb threat was received via email. The cyber cell is working diligently to determine the IP address of the email, the identity of the sender, and their motive.
