Bollywood Filmmaker: Recently, shocking news is coming out about a big filmmaker who has directed many big and hit films. It is being told that the court has declared him guilty in the cheque bounce case and a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him.

Ram Gopal Varma Check Bounce Case: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who is often surrounded by controversies due to his statements, seems to be in big trouble. Recently, film director Ram Gopal Varma announced his new film 'Syndicate'. A day after which, a Mumbai court sentenced him to three months simple imprisonment in a check bounce case. This case was being heard in Mumbai's Andheri Magistrate Court for seven years.
On Tuesday, the court pronounced its verdict in this case. However, Ram Gopal Verma was not present in the court. After this, the magistrate ordered the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against him. Verma has been convicted under Section 138 of the Indian Penal Code. Under this section, bouncing of a cheque is a punishable offence, such as insufficient funds on the cheque or exceeding the stipulated amount.
What is the matter?
Ram Gopal Varma has also been ordered to pay compensation of Rs 3.72 lakh to the complainant within three months. Otherwise, he will have to undergo simple punishment of three more months. This cheque bounce case was filed in 2018 by a company named Shree on behalf of Maheshchandra Mishra. This case was against Verma's firm. Ram Gopal Varma, who gained fame from films like 'Satya', 'Rangeela', 'Company' and 'Sarkar', has been inactive for a long time.
The court convicted him and sentenced him
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he had to sell his office. In this case, in June 2022, Verma was granted bail by the court on a cash security of Rs 5,000 and PR. Let us tell you, while pronouncing the sentence on Tuesday, Magistrate YP Pujari said, 'There is no question of set-off as the accused did not spend any time in custody during the trial'.
