The online liquor booking app has numerous flaws, from loading to selecting a shop.

The online liquor booking app, launched to alleviate long lines at liquor stores, has become a problem in itself. Even after downloading the app, people are unable to make bookings.

Delhi Liquor Booking App

Delhi has a large number of liquor lovers. Consequently, long lines are seen at liquor shops, and people are sometimes overcharged. But now the Delhi government has made arrangements to address this. The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) recently launched its official mobile app, Delhi Liquor Booking. It now allows online liquor booking in Delhi.

The app allows customers to check the stock of their favorite brands from home and even make advance bookings. But like every app, it's been plagued by technical glitches since its launch. Ever since the app debuted on the Google Play Store, people have been downloading it with great anticipation, only to be disappointed when booking. From slow loading speeds to selecting the nearest store, there are so many problems that most users are unable to complete their orders.

Slow app speed

The biggest complaint from customers using this liquor booking app is its slow speed and frequent crashes. Upon opening the app, a loading icon keeps circling the screen for a long time. Even after waiting for a long time, no list appears on the app, preventing users from completing the next process.

Unable to locate shop

Initially, approximately 208 DSIIDC retail stores in Delhi have been connected to this network. However, even with the location enabled, the app doesn't properly load the list of nearby stores. Stores in many areas are not visible on the app, forcing people to abandon online bookings and wait in line at stores.

No home delivery; you will have to do the pickup yourself

Even if you're lucky and the app works properly, you should be clear: it won't provide home delivery of liquor. It's only an advance booking platform. After selecting your favorite brand on the app and making an online payment, a unique QR code is generated on your phone. Customers must visit their chosen government store within 48 hours of booking and scan this QR code at the counter to collect their bottle.

You will get so much time

As a rule, if you don't pick up within the stipulated 48-hour timeframe, your order will be automatically cancelled. However, the good news is that the cancellation option remains available on the app until you pick up the bottle from the store.

Age and purchase limits are set

Under Delhi's excise policy, strict rules have been established for using this app. The primary requirement is age. Customers must be at least 25 years old to register and book on the app. Furthermore, the government has set a maximum limit for purchasing alcohol through online booking. A user can book a maximum of 9 liters of whiskey or other spirits and up to 18 liters of beer at a time.

Know the important rules of the app

This app aims to reduce crowding at shops during the festive season, save time at counters, and bring complete transparency to billing. Currently, the app is available only on the Play Store for Android users; it is not currently available on the Apple App Store. Even booking through the online portal is experiencing server downtime. Therefore, until DSIIDC resolves the technical glitches related to its server and shop selection, it will be difficult for ordinary customers to fully benefit from this digital facility.
