Team India's international schedule could be quite busy after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. According to reports, the Indian team may plan to play T20 series in Sri Lanka and Ireland.

Team India likely to play Two T20 Series on foreign tour
The Indian team recently established its prowess worldwide by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. Now, after becoming world champions, the Indian team is preparing to play several international series over the next year. It is reported that Team India may tour Sri Lanka and Ireland in the coming months, where T20 series could be held.
T20 matches may increase on Sri Lanka tour
According to media reports, the BCCI is considering some changes to the Sri Lanka tour schedule. Currently, two Test matches are planned between India and Sri Lanka, which will be part of the World Test Championship. Now, there is a possibility that three T20 matches will be played before these Test matches. If this happens, the Indian team's tour could begin with T20 matches.
Funds can be raised for flood affected people
It is reported that this proposal came from Sri Lanka Cricket. A major cyclone last year caused extensive damage to many areas of Sri Lanka. Therefore, the plan is to organize additional T20 matches to raise funds for relief efforts.
A short T20 series could also be held in Ireland.
Before the Sri Lanka tour, Team India may also play a T20 series in Ireland. Discussions are underway between the BCCI and Cricket Ireland. If everything goes smoothly, the series could be held in the last week of June. The Indian team has toured Ireland several times before. In 2018, 2022, and 2023, India played T20 matches in Dublin, which were considered important for promoting cricket there.
England tour will also be important
Following these potential series, Team India will tour England. During this tour, India will play a limited-overs series consisting of ODIs and T20 matches.
Additionally, the Indian team will play a home series against Afghanistan in June. This home series is expected to consist of one Test and three ODIs. Following their T20 World Cup victory, Team India will now face the challenge of a series of international matches. Fans are hopeful that the Indian team will continue its impressive performance in the upcoming series.
