After the defeat of Sunrisers Hyderabad, captain Pat Cummins expressed his views about the match. He said, "It was not like the traditional Hyderabad wicket, it was difficult to create a rhythm in batting. We were thinking that we would get spin from the pitch, but in the last part of the match, we did not get that much spin. Our team was able to score a few runs less and Gujarat batted brilliantly."

Cummins gave clarification on impact player
Apart from this, Pat Cummins also clarified about the impact player. He said, "We had to choose between Rahul Chahar and Simarjeet. But when we saw that the batsmen were having difficulty playing the fast bowlers during our bowling, we gave a chance to Simarjeet."
