BCCI: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the two biggest stars of Indian cricket. They have won so many matches for the Indian team on their own and that is why their fan following is very high. Wherever they play matches, their fans reach there to watch them.
But Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been in bad form for some time now and now they may get another blow from BCCI. First these players were forced to play Ranji Trophy and now their salary is also being cut. So let's know what is the matter due to which their salary can be cut.
Virat Kohli had brought this new rule of grade
Let us tell you that when Virat Kohli became the captain, he took the decision along with BCCI that the player who is playing in all three formats should be kept in A Plus category, on which senior player MS Dhoni also agreed and he was kept in A category instead of A Plus and since then this rule is applicable.
Actually Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from T20 cricket after winning the T20 World Cup of the year 2024 and now both of them play only two formats. Not only this, Ravindra Jadeja also retired from T20 cricket with him. Let us tell you that along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah was also included in the A Plus grade in this central contract.
BCCI can keep these players in A grade
After the retirement of these three from T20 cricket, now these two format players are left and now they can be kept in A grade instead of A plus and the annual salary of that grade is Rs 5 crore. Let us tell you that along with the annual salary, these players also get match fees per match separately as a bonus.
A player gets Rs 15 lakh for playing a Test match, while he gets Rs 6 lakh for playing an ODI and Rs 3 lakh for playing a T20 match. Whereas if a player does not get a place in the playing eleven, then he gets half the match fee.
