Let us tell you that senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi created a controversy on Friday as soon as the budget session started with her remark on President Draupadi Murmu's address in both houses of the Parliament. Such comments are wrong and unfortunate: Rashtrapati Bhavan
The President's Office said that it is possible that these leaders are not familiar with the 'idioms and discourse of Indian languages like Hindi', so they made such a wrong assumption. The President's Office said in a statement, 'In any case, such comments are wrong, unfortunate and completely avoidable.' On Friday, soon after the President finished his address to the joint session of Parliament, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were seen discussing the address. In a video going viral on social media, Sonia Gandhi was allegedly heard saying, 'The President was very tired by the end... poor thing, she was barely able to speak.'
Rashtrapati Bhavan said, 'While reacting to the media on the President's address in Parliament, some prominent leaders of the Congress Party have made such comments which clearly hurt the dignity of the post, so these are unacceptable.' According to the statement of the President's Office, these leaders have said that the President was 'very tired' by the end and she was barely able to speak. The statement said, 'Rashtrapati Bhavan wants to make it clear that this impression is completely wrong. The President was not tired at any time. In fact, she believes that speaking for marginalized communities, women and farmers, as she was doing during her address, can never be tiring.'
