Railway Jobs: Recruitment for more than 3000 posts in the railways, applications will start from August 14

Indian Railway Jobs 2025: Applications for recruitment to 3115 apprentice posts in Eastern Railway will start from 14 August 2025. 10th pass and ITI holder candidates will be selected directly on the basis of merit without examination.    

A great opportunity has come for the youth dreaming of a job in the railways. Eastern Railway has announced recruitment for thousands of apprentice posts for the year 2025. Under this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected as apprentices in various trades. The application process will start from August 14, 2025 and interested candidates can join it by filling the online form.

 

According to the notification issued by Eastern Railway, a total of 3115 posts will be recruited. This recruitment is being done for various workshops and divisions, which include areas like Howrah, Sealdah, Malda, Asansol, Kanchrapara, Liluah and Jamalpur. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for the youth to start their career in railways.

 

 

Educational qualification

Candidates applying for these posts should have at least 10th pass (secondary). Along with this, ITI certificate in the relevant trade is also required. The candidate's certificate should be from a recognized board or institute.

Age Limit

To apply for these posts, the minimum age of the candidate should be 15 years and the maximum age should not be more than 24 years. However, candidates from reserved categories will be given age relaxation as per government rules.

Selection Process

There will be no written test or interview for apprentice posts. Selection will be completely on merit basis, which will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in 10th class and ITI. Candidates having equal marks will be selected on the basis of their age – in which the older age will be given preference.

Training and Stipend

The selected candidates will be given training for a fixed duration. During the training, they will also get a stipend (training allowance) fixed by the government. After completing the training, the candidates will get experience of working in the relevant field, which can be beneficial for a permanent job in the future.

General, OBC and EWS category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100. SC, ST and female candidates will not have to pay any fee.
